Should I Get My Associate’s Degree Online?

 - by admin

Online degree programs are a great option for working adults, single moms and working mothers for whom it is more difficult to attend regularly scheduled classes at a campus location.  In addition, those persons with physical disabilities, or who are geographically distant from a university location also benefit greatly with distance learning.  However, is it a good option for you?  Should you get an Associate’s, Bachelor or Master degree online?

It really depends on your level of motivation, learning style, and lifestyle.  If you are highly motivated, and can schedule your time well, you can save both time and money with an online degree program.  Many online college programs are self paced, so you may complete them as fast as your personal schedule and motivation allows.

When choosing an online degree program, ask how the course materials are delivered.  And determine if your learning style is compatible.  Some schools offer webcams and pod casts, while others offer more of a DIY read the material and learn approach.  Selecting the right program for your learning style is key to successful competion.

If you have a busy lifestyle, look for an online degree program that is flexible and does not require regular class sessions.  Then you won’t have to worry about holding down your job, or taking care of your family while you earn your college degree.

Online Degree – Three Tips to Choose the Right Program

 - by admin

Many very intelligent people have trouble deciding on an online degree program. If you have many interests it can be difficult to settle on just one topic of interest. On the other hand, there are people who seem to know their vocation from birth! A friend of mine knew that he would be a doctor. In fact was quite firm about his chosen career from the time he was about 4 years old.

Here are some tips that may help you find the right program for your interests, talents, skills, and resources:

1. Do what you love. Do you love working with animals? A career as a veterinary technician (associate degree program) may lead you to a rewarding career path. Like the old saying goes, “do what you love, the money will follow”.

2. Compare online degree programs. Find the very best school that you can afford, and that meets your needs. Research the universities and colleges. What is the method of program delivery? There are many ways to teach via the Internet. Which method do you think will suit your learning style best?

3. If you are currently in a job in which you would like to advance, talk to your supervisor or someone in your Human Resource department to determine what program would help you get ahead on the job. Is an MBA beneficial, or would a degree in industrial relations be more suitable?

There are so many options available today. You can find nearly any degree program online that is available in a traditional on-campus situation.
